Tampa, Fl, February 10, 2011, – Sims Crane & Equipment Co. (“Sims Crane”), in Tampa, FL, will unveil the Kastens Memorial Award to be presented to the winner of the Sims Crane Safety Rodeo, Saturday February 12, 2011.
Dean Sims II, Vice President of Marketing, commissioned the making of the Kastens Memorial Award for the winner’s branch to display proudly. “Each year the winning branch of the operator will get to display the trophy for a year, with their name and branch engraved on it” Sims states.
Dennis Stansel, a former Sims Crane operator, now the business manager for the local IUOE 925 was the first operator to ever win the award. “It was an honor to be the first, and now to be part of the Sims Crane Safety Rodeo with the Local 925 is a great honor,” states Stansel. The IUOE 925 is donating $1,000 in prize money to be distributed among the first, second and third place winners.
The public is invited to the event which takes place on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10 am at the Tampa headquarters at 1219 US Hwy 301 N. Tampa, Fl 33619. Sims Crane will donate $2 per person who attends to the American Cancer Society. The day will feature a BBQ cook-off for all to enjoy along with door prizes and fun for the whole family with music by DJ Majic Mark.
